Privacy Policy
This policy explains what PetzOman collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the whole platform — adoption and fostering listings, the community, the blog, and your account.
What we collect
Account details
When you sign up we store your name, email address and phone number. Your profile picture, if you choose one, is stored too. Sign-in is handled by our authentication provider (email, Google or Apple); we never see or store your password.
Pet listings
Pet details you add — name, breed, age, gender, location, photos and description — are stored to show your listing. Photos you upload are kept in our storage only for the listing itself.
Adoption and fostering applications
When you apply to adopt or foster a pet, your answers and your name and phone number are shared with the pet's owner after PetzOman approves the request. Before approval, they stay private.
Messages and reports
Messages you send to our team, and reports you file about listings, are stored so we can review them and follow up with you.
Usage data
We keep simple, non-identifying analytics — which pages are visited, which country or device a visit comes from — to understand how the platform is used. This data is not linked to your identity and is not shared with advertisers.
How we use your information
Connecting pets and people
Your information is used to run the platform: showing listings, reviewing adoption and fostering requests, and letting pet owners reach the right applicants once a request is approved.
Service emails
We email you about things that matter to your account: request updates, approvals, feedback on your listings, health reminders for your pets, and account security. You can unsubscribe from non-essential emails using the link in any email.
Keeping PetzOman safe
Reports, suspended accounts and listing reviews are handled with the details you provide, to keep the community safe and free of pet trading.
What we don't do
No selling of data
We never sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers.
Contact details stay hidden
Your phone number and email are never shown publicly on a listing. They are shared only with the other side of an approved adoption or fostering request.
No trading of pets
PetzOman is strictly for adoption and fostering. Accounts found selling pets are suspended.
Public content
What other users can see
Pet listings, community posts and comments are visible to other visitors and to search engines. Only your display name appears with them — never your email or phone number.
Pet photos
Photos you upload for a pet listing are visible with that listing. Remove the listing and its photos stop being shown.
Your choices
Updating your details
You can edit your name, phone number and profile picture at any time from your profile page.
Deleting your account
Contact our support team on WhatsApp and we will delete your account. Your pets are removed from public listings with it.
Deleted pets
When you delete a pet listing, it disappears from public pages. The owner may keep it in their dashboard history, but visitors can no longer see it.
Security
How we protect data
Your data is stored in a secured database with access limited to the PetzOman team. Sessions are protected with signed tokens, and administrative actions require a verified admin role.
